Gloucester Fishing Charter Rates and Policies

We strive to balance fuel, dockage, insurance, ice, bait, equipment and related expenses to bring you fishing at its finest at the best price possible. We are hoping fuel prices level out this year!

All charter rates are for the boat for the charter, and include up to six (6) persons. The 6-person maximum is a U.S. Coast Guard regulation. Children of all ages, seniors and non-fishing persons all count towards the 6-person maximum.

Policies

Please note that due to increasing processing costs,
all credit card charges include a 4% service charge.
This charge appears in the Shipping & Handling line of your receipt.
Tuna over 73″ are the boat’s property due to federal permitting.
Charters who land a Giant Tuna (over 73 inches) may receive 20% of the fish sale price up to the cost of the charter. Call us for details.

Retaining fish on any charter depends on Massachusetts DMF (inshore, striped bass) and NMFS (offshore – bluefin tuna, sharks and haddock) regulations in effect on the day of your charter. Regulations are subject to change at any time during our season. It is typical for MA DMF and NMFS to adjust regulations mid-season regarding the size and number of fish that may be retained to meet quotas and protect the species from overfishing. We must abide by the latest regulations in effect on the day of your charter.

Tuna Hunter Gear
Ask us about Tuna Hunter T-Shirts, Hats and Personalized Chamois Shirts – $25 – $90. Call for availability. Great Holiday, Birthday, or Any Occasion gifts! Mention you want shirts or hats and we can make sure we have them aboard for your charter.

Deposits

A deposit of 50% is required for all charters to reserve your date. This deposit non-refundable unless the charter is canceled by the Captain due to inclement weather and we are unable to reschedule, or unless your cancellation is received at least two weeks prior to your charter date.

We do accept deposits via credit card ~ please call us for details. This option will instantly reserve your date. Please do not email credit card information, for your own security. If sending a check, please mail deposits, made out to

Note that if reserving by check, your charter is not reserved until we receive your check.

Payments

On the day of your charter, we accept payment by cash or personal check. (Yes, we do take checks!). If you prefer to pay by credit card, we offer online payments (very easy, from our Payments page or on site) mobile credit card processing on site. Please call to arrange for other payment options in advance.

Due to increasing credit card service charges, payment by credit card will incur a 4% service charge.

Cancellations

We request two (2) weeks notice of cancellation of your charter, to allow us to re-book that date. If we are unable to re-book the date, we will charge a $700 deposit using the mode with which you secured your charter (credit card or check).

If the Captain needs to cancel the charter due to weather or other safety issue, we will notify you as soon as possible. Every effort will be made to make this call with you in consideration of your travel plans to our area.

Weather

All trips are rain or shine – the fish don’t care if it is wet out! Bring gear appropriate to the offshore marine forecast. High winds and storms may cause cancellations for safety reasons. Captain makes the call. We will be in touch the day before your charter to finalize departure time and/or reschedule if need be.
