| Ostdiek Tuna Week
Bluefin Tuna fishing aboard Tuna Hunter Fishing Charters is hot this year. John Ostdiek and sons braved high seas early in their week-long trip. They learned that bluefin like snotty weather, landing 3 medium-large tuna on their first day out.
The abundance of bait on Stellwagon Bank - sand eels and a mix of herring, whiting and ling - is holding the school, medium and large bluefin tuna in our area. This makes for the best tuna fishing for anglers in years.
Tuna Hunter will be fishing for bluefin - all sizes - through October.
The wealth of forage is making for better cod and haddock fishing charters, as well a fabulous whale watching, either while you fish, or as a custom, private whale watching charter .
Two Tuna for the Cooler
Angling regulations at the time of this charter allowed for 3 bluefin 47"-73". This crew chose to retain two. All meat has good homes and will be consumed - no waste!. The 3rd bluefin was tagged and released in good condition.
